
eSports & Gaming Club Registration
Registration is open for the 2023-24 school year.
What is eSports & Gaming Club?
Middle School eSports is an after-school club focused on multiplayer, group-based competitive game play in the following games: Rocket League, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Brothers, Splatoon, Knockout City, and Minecraft. FortNite is available as a game only with written parental permission.
Grades:
6th, 7th and 8th grade
Seats:
15 students. The number of "seats" is related to the number of available consoles and controllers. Keeping the number to less than 15 students allows all students sufficient gaming play.
Meetings:
Weekly on Fridays from 3:30 - 5:00 PM
Season:
First meeting will be on Friday, August 18th. Meetings will continue end through February 2023.
Location:
eSports & Robotics Lab (F-005) and the Innovation Lab (F-002) in the basement of DeVore Hall on the LS/MS Campus.
Fees:
There is a $200 fee to join the club. The fee covers licenses, GamePass/Family Plans, subscriptions, and mentor stipends. The fee will appear on your FACTS bill. If finances are an issue, please contact Chip Barber.

Only school accounts allowed. No personal accounts allowed to be used during meeting time.

No gaming on personal devices (phones, iPads, consoles) allowed during meeting time.
Policies:
Student participation in the club follows the policies outlined in the MBCA Student Handbook in section "Grade and Discipline Requirements for Extracurricular Activities."
In addition, students are required to follow the rules & etiquette outlined by the Middle School eSports League and Varsity eSports Foundation. Failure to comply with these rules could result in removal from the club with the understanding any fees will be forfeited.
